SYNOPSIS

Over the course of 2018, six people linked to the world of books are interviewed by a BBC team at different times and in different locations. In their testimonies collected in that report, they describe their vision of literature while narrating the same story: in August 1940, Richard Lamm, a crew member of a German bomber, survived the downing of his plane in the middle of the Battle of Britain. After fleeing the coast guard, he tried to take refuge on the island so he could later return to the mainland. In an effort to find new forms of expression in language and literary structure, Ignacio Lloret's latest novel addresses such vital issues as the limits between reality and fiction, the risks of the imaginary, and the importance of preserving the individual in a historical context marked by collective destinies.
