A group of young friends cross a highway to Oriente at night not knowing if they will reach their destination, a leathery critic who no longer recognizes his own life is stranded at an airport, a beautiful you woman with a terminal illness reaches the end of life with her companions, an artist commissioned with a work travels to Panama and acknowledges another's destiny, a vague individual responds to an order or seeks an assignment in an illusory paradise. These and other stories make up the collection "Kingwood," where opposites meet and become indistinct. Exuberant natural landscapes, but also dark places where life is extinguished, form a kaleidoscope in which the reader will recognize juxtaposed sentiments: nostalgia, yes, but also decline; reconciliation, yes, but also unplumbed ruptures.
