SYNOPSIS

Hawa tells a story that plays out between Spain and Mali, within an atmosphere of tension, danger, love and hate and the most current elements of today's society: Podemos' electoral disaster, the frustrations of an old communist who leaves Spain because he can't bear to live under the rightwing government, the attempts of Islamic terrorism to carry out an international attack, and the work of the National Intelligence Centre in the Sahel zone, carried out by agents who don't fit the image that some still have of Spanish spies. Juan López Astudillo travels to Mali where his son works for an NGO, but once there finds himself obliged to collaborate with the military and the church – which represent everything he stands against.
