Marta Barrio

Marta Barrio García-Agulló (New Haven, 1986) is an editor. She is a graduate of Spanish Languages and of Oriental Studies from the Autónoma University, Madrid. She took a masters in Editing at Salamanca-Santillana University. Her first novel was “Los gatos salvajes de Kerguelen” (The wild cats of Kerguelen, 2020) which was a finalist for the Memorial Silverio Cañada prize in Gijón's Crime Week (Semana Negra). The brilliant but coolly restrained “Leña menuda” (Firewood), winner of the Tusquets book prize in 2021, tells the terrible story of an early loss, and of the strength it takes to overcome and reaffirm life.
