Manuel Mira Candel (Orihuela, 1945) has been described as one of the last real journalists and as an innovative writer who works on the border between reality and fiction. As a journalist he worked in every capacity, from editor to media director and creative entrepreneur. He has also been president of the Alicante Press Association. His career as a writer began in 2004, when he won the Azorín Novel Prize, for which he had been a finalist the previous year.
