Carlos Spottorno
Carlos Spottorno

Carlos Spottorno (b. Budapest, 1971) is a Spanish documentary photographer whose field of interest focuses on economic, social and political themes. Holder of a degree in Fine Arts, after working in the creative department of an ad agency, he turned to photography in 2001. Since then he has published both in national and international media, and particularly in EL País Semanal. Carlos has published five previous books: "Buscadores de Historia" (Blur Ediciones), "China Western" (La Fábrica), "Philosophia Naturalis" (self-published), "La hora del recreo" (collaboration, Lünwerg), "The Pigs" (RM Verlag y Phree) and "Wealth Management" (RM Verlag y Phree). Winner of the Kassel PHotobook Award 2013.  Finalist for Best Photobook 2013 at the Paris Photo Aperture. Special Mention ad the Best Photography Book at PhotoEspaña 2014. Prix Lacritique, Rencontres d’Arles 2014. World Press Photo Prize 20003 and 2015.
