SYNOPSIS

The main character in this crime thriller is sixteen-year-old Samuel. After a series of family dramas, Samuel ends up temporarily living with his uncle Juan Domingo who runs a detective agency. Samuel starts to help out as an assistant on his uncle’s newest case. Together they investigate and uncover an intricate plot that has its roots in the theft of a priceless jewel from a winemaker in La Mancha: the Eye of Polyphemus. This novel interweaves the tales of the missing Damián Romero, several of his work colleagues, an antiquarian, a jeweller, a lady antiques collector, and ever her niece. In between investigations, Samuel falls in love with Andrea, a girl of his age who works in an ice-cream parlour and becomes very fond of his uncle with whom he builds a very special bond.
