Mildre Hernández Barrios

Mildre Hernández Barrios was born in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba, in 1972. Her entire oeuvre is aimed at children and teenagers. At home she has been awarded the following prizes: Eliseo Diego, Pinos Nuevos, Abril (three times: for 'La Rosa Blanca','Regino Bo- ti' and 'Hermanos Loymaz') She was shortlisted for the Hispanoamericano prize for children's poetry (México, 2004) and the Libresa (Ecuador, 2009). She is a best-selling author in Cuba and in other Spanish-speaking countries in the Americas.
