CHANDRO
JUAN CARLOS CHANDRO

Juan Carlos was born in Ausejo to a mushroom-growing family. He is proud of his origins and thinks being a farming is one of the best things you can be. He studied to be a teach Logroño and Spanish Philology in Zaragoza. After completing his education, he worked as a Spanish Language teacher, and left that occupation to write for a number of media organs as a writer of graphic humour, teaming up with the illustrator Guillermo Ferreira. He entered the world of child and young adult literature when he moved to Madrid, where he worked at Bayard Revistas as a writer on Revistas Infantiles Leoleo, Caracola and Popi. He has published over 25 titles and was awarded the Premio de Literatura Infantil Ilustrada Tombatossals in 2000, and first prize in the X Félix Pardo prize for children's stories in 2017.
