Sozapato; Beto Valencia

SOZAPATO (Sofía Zapata Ochoa, born Quito, 1984). She has a degree in visual arts and is a graphic designer and illustrator specialising in picture books with a Masters in children's book illustration from the Escuela i con i in Madrid. She has worked with publishers in Ecuador, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Spain. 'Colorín Colorado' ('Ever After'), her first book as both writer and illustrator, was chosen to represent Ecuador on the 2014 IBBY Honour List. She was also shortlisted for the 2017 Premio CCBF Golden Pinwheel in Shanghai. She founded the Ommani publishing house which focuses on philosophical material for children, through which she has published her third book as an author 'Debajo de hoy' ('Below Today') which won the Premio Nacional Darío Guevara Mayorga for best illustrated book. She is part of the Chalata Clown theatre collective. Beto Valencia (born Quito, 1973) is a writer, advertising agent and audiovisual director with more than 15 years of experience in communicating for a child audience.
