CRISTINA LOPEZ BARRIO best-selling author Planeta Finalist Award 2018
Cristina Lopez Barrio

Born in Madrid, she practised as a lawyer specialising in intellectual property for thirteen years. After winning the 2009 Premio Villa Pozuelo de Alarcon for children's fiction with 'El hombre que se mareaba con la rotación de la Tierra' ('The Man Who Felt Seasick From The Turning Of The Earth') (2009) and following the publication of her novel 'La casa de los amores imposibles' ('The House of Impossible Love Affairs') (2010), she gave up law to focus fully on writing. In 2010 she was awarded the well known literary blog Llegir en cas d'incendi's best new writer prize for 'La casa de los amores imposibles'. This novel has been translated into fifteen languages and published in twenty-two countries, including: the United States, Italy, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Sweden, Israel and Mexico. She has also published the short story book 'El reloj del mundo' ('The Clock Of The World') (2012) and the novels 'El cielo en infierno cabe' ('Heaven Fits Inside Hell') (2013) and 'Tierra de brumas' ('Land of Fogs') (2015).
