SYNOPSIS

HISTORICAL NOVEL The greatest Roman of his time, the Edetani Marcus Cornelius Nigrinus Curiatius Maternus, suffered the damnatio memoriae (condemnation of memory), for being a threat to Trajan, the other candidate for Caesar's throne. Nigrinus is the most decorated general with the most brilliant military career of the era, having become consul and governor of the provinces of Aquitaine, Moesia and Syria. But he watches as Emperor Nerva is forced to choose Trajan as his successor. The possibility of a civil war disappears with a rapid movement that will lead to the dismissal of Nigrinus, his forced exile, and the prohibition against speaking his name. Nigrinus and his family, from Edeta, will fight to preserve his memory, struggling against the difficulties imposed by those who see in his misfortune the possibility of inheriting his influence and great fortune.
