Herminia Luque

Herminia Luque (1964) is a writer and professor of Granadan Geography and History. As an author she has worked on anthologies of stories from Mexico (Relato español actual, Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2002) and Denmark (Espacios; Arthus, Systime, 2003) among others. She has published various novels such as, "Bitácora de Poseidón"(Poseidon's Compass, 2010), "El códice purpúreo"(The Purple Code, 2011) and "Amar tanta belleza" (To Love Such Beauty), which won the Málaga Prize for fiction in 2015. She has received several literary awards including the 15th Essay Prize of the Diputación de Almería (2014) with "Siempre guapa. El imperativo estético en la sociedad contemporánea" (Always Beautiful. The Aesthetic Imperative in Contemporary Society); the 2nd Ramiro Pinilla Short Novel Prize for "Las traidoras" (The Traitors) and the 3rd Edhasa Historical Novel Prize for "La reina del exilio" (The Exile Queen) in 2020.
