After graduating in History of Art, Roberto Corral Moro has dedicated the larger part of his life to teaching. He is presently head of a School for Spanish as a Foreign Language. In 2013 he published five short stories in the collection Gilo, el elefante anoréxico y otros cuentos (Gilo, the Anorexic Elephant and Other Stories; Ediciones Mensajero) and in 2019, in the same literary vein, El Palacio Blanco (The White Palace). In 2018 he decided to move to the novel, publishing La Ruta de los Huesos (The Route of Bones), a passionate story based on real life events, dealing with life, friendship and love in the most cruel of Soviet gulags. He now offers his second novel, The Smell of the Waves, which has already been named as runner-up one of the most famous and prestigious Spanish literary awards: the Premio Nadal de Novela, 2020.
