Jesús Carrasco

Jesús Carrasco established himself with his novel Intemperie [Out in the Open] as one of the most dazzling debuts on the international literary scene. This work has won the Book of the Year Prize awarded by the Booksellers' Guild of Madrid, the Culture, Art and Literature Prize of the Rural Studies Foundation, the English PEN Award and the Prix Ulysse for Best First Novel. It was a finalist for the European Literature Prize in the Netherlands and the Prix Méditerranée Étranger in France. In 2013, it was chosen as Book of the Year by El País and selected by The Independent as one of the best translated books of 2014 in the UK. Take Me Home, his latest novel, has been described as "an everyday drama written with restrained emotion" (J.M. Pozuelo, ABC Cultural), and has been translated into five languages.
