José de Cora

José de Cora Paradela, writer and journalist (Lugo, 1951), has worked in all areas of the media: news agencies, newspapers, magazines, radio, cinema and television. His cartoons won the Codorniz de Plata in 2000. Since 1976 he has written many essays, including Ideologies for a King (Aguaribay) and Manual of the Perfect Politician (Espasa Calpe). For cinema he has written, directed and produced a multitude of series and documentaries, as a novelist some outstanding books including The Kidnap of Cela in Contamina (Tris-Tram), The Sneeze of the Butterfly (Edhasa), which has sold its film rights, and I'll Call you Dead. Valle-Inclán and Acevedo in the House of the Devil (Edhasa). In 2019 he won the Fernando Arenas Quintela Literary Award for Famous Murderers and Distinguished Corpses. Mario is Speaking is his most recent literary work.
