SYNOPSIS

The chance discovery of an unusual, apparently worthless painting in the rubble is, in fact, the tip of the iceberg of a collection of extremely valuable, eccentric, irreverent works of art that a group of enlightened people hid during the War of Independence in a corner of the labyrinth of subterranean tunnels of Valderrobres, a town in the Tereul Maestrat. Various characters come together in the search for this booty, and become involved in a fast-paced plot of pursuit and death. A painter who calls himself Merlot, a pair of unconventional lawyers, a cynical promoter, a seductive widow, a killer dog, a penniless prostitute, a gang of mafiosos, and other strange individuals are the characters of this fast-paced action novel, narrated with humour and irony, that has readers turning the pages.
