David Jiménez

David Jiménez (Barcelona, 1971) has been a reporter in over thirty countries, including North Korea, Syria and Burma, and his journalism is considered influential around the world. His books have been translated into half a dozen languages and include the best seller El Director, his memoires of the year as editor-in-chief of El Mundo. He also wrote Children of the Monsoon, which won the Camino del Cid International Travel Literature Award; The Happiest Place in the World, and The Bellboy of Kabul, a novel inspired by his coverage of the Afghan conflict. Jiménez is a Nieman Fellow at Harvard University, teaches journalism and writes a column for the New York Times. Inspired by real events, The Correspondent transports us to the "most beautiful and sad country ever invented" with an intimate glance into the world of a war correspondent.
