Laura Calavia Safont studied Film Directing at the Cinema and Audiovisual School of Catalonia (ESCAC). She is a co-creator of "La Extranjera" in Madrid. After the ESCAC, Laura studied screenwriting thanks to an exchange fellowship at EICTV and various workshops. She has directed works in various formats, particularly short films and videoclips. Among her latest works as a screenwriter, it is worth mentioning the feature film “Fishbone”, cowritten with director Adán Aliaga; and the documentary feature film “Rêve de Mousse,” where she shares writing credit with Txema Torres, Isaki Lacuesta and director Elena Molina. Besides her creative work, she has worked as assistant director on of all kinds of projects, such as the short film "Timecode," nominated for an Oscar and winner of a Goya, a Gaudí and a Palme d'Or at Cannes. "Petrified" is her first children's book.
