A mother who gives milk and honey is the stirring story of Fátima, a Muslim woman who returns to Rif to visit her family after years away. Once there, she tells her seven sisters about everything she has gone through. As a young mother Fátima was obliged to leave her home town to emigrate with her daughter to Catalunya. There, unable to speak or understand the language, she feels alone in a completely different culture. She must make sense of the disparity between the life she lived before and this new world, between the little rural town in which she was brought up and the modern city. Despite the difficulties, Fátima fights on her own to succeed and to make a better future for her daughter.
