10 years after 15-M, the protest carried out in the spring of 2011 by young Spanish people rebelling against political corruption, we publish The Invertebrates, a novel that opens a week before the protests. Moisés Marmelo, recently released from convalescence in a hospital where he was kept in isolation, tries to find out what has happened to the company where he used to work. His search ends at the Puerta del Sol, amongst the crowds of protesters. The invertebrates paints a faithful and humorous portrait of that Madrid - and that Spain - where political corruption, personal deception and professional lies were common currency, leading to the intriguing finale of this hilarious novel, which combines pathos, observation of high society and satire.
