SYNOPSIS

One afternoon, whilst they walk along the beach at Chirimena, Mariana and Arturo find an amputated finger at the water's edge. Arturo, who is under the influence of cannabis, keeps the finger. Mariana, who is always silent and enigmatic, does not say anything about it. The find is the starting point for a plot that explores not just the past of this beautiful and disillusioned couple, but also of other no-less fascinating people: a retired policeman who runs a kiosk on the beach, a charismatic former actor who is the head of the local drug dealers and a dying father and his son who are making their way to Chirimena in a story similar to a road-trip film. "David Lynch's Finger", a novel of fierce nihilism and an admirable lyrical touch and blends the determinism and barbarity of magical realism with elements of the crime genre in a twist that shows a magnificent mastery of writing.
