A saga about a family from the Poblenou neighbourhood of Barcelona living under the weight of a curse. Born under unusual circumstances and raised in the custody of the imposing Mama Asya, the despotic owner of a brothel, the prostitute Katia Soloviov, is found dead. At her funeral it is discovered that her body remains uncorrupted by death. The people go out into the street to spread word of the miracle and Father Ramon sends one of his students to ask the advice of the Archbishop of Barcelona. In the meantime, Katia’s body is placed on the altar of the Church of Sant Bernat Calbó, where it remains uncorrupted and is visited by believers from all over the country. One night in 1885, Serafí Carcosa, who is mentally disturbed, breaks into the church and assaults the body. Katia and Serafí and their descendents will fight against their destiny to uncover the crime that triggered the curse.
