Rafael Vallbona Sallent

Rafael Vallbona (Barcelona, 1960) is a writer and journalist. He is the author of sixty books spanning all genres: novels, essays, poems and travel books, some of which have been translated. Amongst other prizes, he has been awarded the Amat Piniella and Néstor Luján Prize for Historical Fiction, the Ernest Udina Prize for Journalism, Columna Jove y Ramon Muntaner Prize for Young Adult Fiction, the Ferran Canyameres Prize for the Noir Novel and Jocs Florals de Barcelona Prize for Poetry. In 2017, "The House on the Frontier" received the BBVA Sant Joan Prize for Fiction, one of the most highly respected prizes available for Catalan literature. He works across the media and also has a position as a teacher in the Blanquerna Faculty of Communication (Ramon Llull University).
