Pepa Mayo was born in Barcelona in 1966. She studied Image and Sound as a branch of cinematography and began to write scripts for cinema shorts, two of which won prizes in national and international competitions. Since 1990, she has worked in Televisión autonómica de Cataluña as a camerawoman. She combines this profession with her passion for writing. Since 2002, she has written eleven novels, the majority of which are in the child and youth sectors, and just a few directed at adult readers. In addition to contributing to 16 anthologies in such genres as horror, science fiction and steampunk, she has published three short stories and two audiobooks. She has written three child musicals and co-scriptwrited two shorts, which won prizes in the Sitges Festival, the Cinephone, and she was awarded the Best Cinematographer prize at the 12th Months Festival in Rumania.
