Miguel Ángel Hernández

A lecturer in the History of Art at the Universidad de Murcia, he has written prize-winning novels such as Intento de Escapada (Attempt to Escape) (Anagrama, 2013)El instante de peligro (The Moment of Danger) (Anagrama, 2015), as well as collections of stories such as Cuaderno [...] duelo (Notebook [...] Grief) (Nausicaa, 2011), Demasiado tarde para volver (Too Late to Return) (Tres Fronteras, 2008), Infraleve (Editora Regional, 2004) and the diaries Presente continuo: diario de una novela ( Present continuous: diary of a novel) (Balduque, 2016)and Diario de Ithaca ( Ithaca Diary) (Newcastle Foundation, 2017). His latest novel is El Dolor de los demás (Other People's Pain) (Anagrama, 2018). As an essayist, he contributes to magazines on contemporary art and visual arts. He has been the director of artistic centres and curated exhibitions internationally. He is currently assistant director of the Visual Studies Centre at the Universidad de Murcia and is a member of the Visual Studies Group. Since 2013 he has worked with the curatorial group 1er. He writes a regular blog No (ha) lugar.
