Mercedes Gutiérrez García

Mercedes Gutiérrez, born in Madrid in 1971, studied at the Universidad Complutense and has a doctorate in American Literature. Her specialty is American road novels. Although she grew up between León and Madrid, she has lived in the United States for years. She has lived in Boston and in towns in Ohio, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, where she found the sources of inspiration for her stories. His stories have been published in the Spanish magazines Sibila, El Kraken, Voces, Auca, Quimera, Revista de Occidente and Clarín; as well as in some US magazines. In 2017 she published a compilation of her stories under the title Perro Verde "Green Dog". She has also translated into Spanish Walt Whitman's unpublished novel "The Life and Adventures of Jack Engle". She runs a blog, www.americanx-ray.com, where she "X-rays" everything related to the American world.
