María Ramos

I was born in Cáceres in 1984. I did a fine arts degree in Salamanca. I studied for the civil servants' exams in order to get a normal job, but I threw in the towel and decided to move to Madrid, where some friends and I created Crispis, a music and illustration studio. From there came my first publication Bababum, a collection of games books for children. I have worked with companies including Mamut Cómics, Fosfatina Ediciones, Madrid city council, Intropia and Kiwi magazine. In spring 2018 I published my first two collections for Fulgencio Pimentel: The Book of the Future and Picnic. My greatest passion is using graphic resources to tell stories. I struggle to differentiate between comics and illustrated books, which is probably why I do both. I currently combine all of the above with giving classes in illustration at the IED in Madrid.
