Manuel Longares

Manuel Longares (Madrid, 1943). His first three novels: The Corset Novel (1979), Little Soldiers of Pavia (1984) and Operation Spring (1992), are part of his experimental cycle entitled The Life of Letters (Galaxia Gutenberg, 2014). The following novel, I can't live without you (1995), serves as a bridge to the cycle formed by Romanticism (2001) and Our Epic (2006). His latest novels are The Innocents (2013), Absolute Pitch (2016) and Sentimental Music (2018). He has published two books of short stories: Wanderings (1999) and The City Seen Through the Senses (2007) and one of novellas, The Four Corners (2011). He has translated Sol, i de dol, J. V. Foix's book of sonnets (Alone and hurt, 1993). He received the National Critics Award for Romanticism (reprinted by Galaxia Gutenberg in 2019), and also the Ramón Gómez de la Serna Prize, the NH novella prize, the Francisco Umbral Prize, and the Madrid Booksellers Award.
