Lluis Prats

Lluís Prats (Terrassa, 1966) is a Catalan writer who came to global attention following the success of 'Hachiko. El perro que esperaba' ('Hachiko; The Dog Who Waited'), which has sold more than 300,000 copies. He studied history of art and archaelogy at the UAB and the UdG. He is a multi-faceted writer whose work encompasses many genres: essay, art books, historical novels and more than twenty novels for children and young adults. His work has been translated into Vietnamese, Russian, Japanese, Turkish, Italian, Korean, Polish, Greek and Chinese. He currently combines his writing with work as a professor. Prizes he has won include: • Premio Josep M. Folch i Torres 2014 for 'Hachiko: el gos que esperava' ('Hachiko; The Dog Who Waited') • White Ravens 2015 for 'Hachiko: el gos que esperava'. • Premio Strega (Bologna Children's Book Fair) 2018 for 'Hachiko: el gos que esperava' • Premio Cifre de Colonya 2019 for 'Corporació d'Alienígenes, S.A.' ('Aliens Incorporated, Ltd.').
