JOQUIN BERGES
JOAQUIN BERGES

Born in Zaragoza in 1965, he has a degree in Spanish Literature from the University of Zaragoza. He first came to public attention with 'El club de los estrellados' ('The Starry Club') (Winner of the prize for best first major work at the 2009 Chambéry First Novel Festival), which was followed by 'Vive como puedas' ('Live As Best You Can'), (Fnac New Talent prize 2011) and 'Un estado del malestar' ('A State Of Unease') (Premio Cálamo 2012), two comedies which, thanks to the enthusiasm of readers and booksellers, experienced prolonged success with the public. In the same vein, his most hilarious work yet, 'Nadie es perfecto' ('Nobody's Perfect') was published in 2015. Berges also won readers over with 'La línea invisible del horizonte' ('The Invisible Line Of The Horizon') (2014), a story of self-improvement and intimate secrets, written in another more intimate and emotional register. In 2015 he received the Heraldo de Aragón's Artes & Letras prize.
