Gemma Lienas (Barcelona, 1951) is one of the best known contemporary authors in Catalunya, and has been awarded many prizes for her works of fiction, both for adults and for a younger readership. Outstanding amongst her books for children and young people is the series of Carlota's diaries and the collection "La fada Menta".
