Fulgencio Argüelles
Fulgencio Argüelles

Fulgencio Argüelles was born in 1955. After a long time in Madrid, where he studied Psychology, he returned to Cenera, Asturias, the place of his childhood and youth. His first novel, Letanías de lluvia (The Rain's Litany), received the Premio Azorín in 1992. Since then he has published several novels, among them, Los clamores de la tierra (The Earth's Clamour), Recuerdos de algun vivir (Memories of a Way of Life), 2000 Premio Principado de Asturias, El palacio azul de los ingenieros belgas (The Blue Palace of the Belgian Engineers) (Acantilado, 2003), Premio Café Gijón and Premio de la Crítica awarded by the AEA to the best novel of 2003, and A la sombra de los abedules (In the Shade of the Birches). This publishing house has also brought out his 2014 novel No encuentro mi cara en el espejo (I Don't See My Face in the Mirror). Argüelles has for many years written opinion pieces and literary criticism for the press, and received the Premio de la Crítica, awarded by the AEA, for his literary articles of 2013.
