Clara Obligado
Clara Obligado

Clara Obligado was born in Buenos Aires and moved to Spain in 1976 as a political exile of the military dictatorship. She has a degree in Literature, and led the first Creative Writing workshops organized in Spain, an activity that she has carried out on a freelance basis for numerous universities and institutions. In 1996 she received the Lumen Women’s Award for her novel Marx’s Daughter. With Páginas de Espuma she has published her book of short stories Other Lives and the anthologies Please Be Brief 1 and 2, which played a unique role in the implementation of the genre in Spain. She has also written numerous books of essays and is a regular contributor to the media. Her work has been translated into various languages.
