The author was born in La Línea de la Concepción, near Cádiz, on 29 September 1962. She teaches Literature at San Blas de Aracena secondary school in Huelva. Her first books were published in 2003 and since then she has produced over 90 published works, many of them translated into foreign languages, as well as into Spain’s various national languages. She specialises in children's literature, as well as teaching and creating cultural animation for children. She has carried out theatre projects, puppet shows, storytelling and dance workshops. She teaches poetry in primary schools and gives talks promoting reading for families and teachers. She collaborates with various schools by running sessions and meeting with readers. In 2011, the Council of Andalucía awarded her the Gold Medal for Merit in Education for her work promoting reading.
