Álvaro Lozano

The author (Seville, 1985) studied medicine at the University of Seville. In 2010 he moved to Madrid to specialise in cardiology and has lived there since then. Despite his medical training, he never abandoned two of his favourite interests, literature and history, and has focussed especially on the forgotten and largely unknown Byzantine era. The result of his two great passions and rigorous investigation of the period is his first novel, Irene of Athens.
