Álvaro Aguilera

Álvaro Aguilera was born in Madrid in 1985 and grew up in the Las Águilas neighbourhood of the city's Latina district. He studied Spanish Literature at university and graduated with a degree in Screenwriting from the Escuela del Cine y el Audiovisual de Madrid (ECAM). Since then he has combined his work as a scriptwriter ('Estados Alterados' for La Sexta) with his work as a professor of Film Studies and Literature at institutions including the Escuela de Cine y TV de San Antonio de los Baños de Cuba, where he is an assistant professor, and the Foro de Creadores in Madrid. 'Plato de mal gusto' ('A Tasteless Dish') is his first novel. He is currently working on his second novel and finishing two books of poetry.
