Alejandro Palomas

Alejandro Palomas (Barcelona, 1967) has a degree in English Language and a master's degree in Poetry from New College, San Francisco. He has combined a career in journalism with one as a translator of several important authors, and as a poet ("Quiero", I want and "Una Flor", A Flower). He has published several novels including "El alma del mundo" (The Soul of the World), "Agua cerrada" (Closed Water) and "El tiempo que nos une" (The Time the Unites Us). In 2016 he received the National Prize for Children's Literature for "Un hijo" (A Child), and its sequel, "Un secreto" (A Secret) was published in 2019. His trilogy portraying family life, "Una madre" (A Mother), "Un perro" (A Dog), and "Un amor" (A Love, winner of the Nadal Prize in 2018) has been hugely successful, winning the hearts of thousands of readers. With "A Country with Your Name" (Destino, 2021) he opens up a new literary universe. His work has been adapted for the cinema and the theatre and has been translated into more than twenty languages.
