As a teacher for over twenty years, stories, music and children are part of María del Pilar López Gómez's everyday experience. She is a member of the Club de Álbum Ilustrado (Picture Book Club) in her hometown and President of the Asociación Cultural Déjate de Cuentos (Stop Telling Stories Cultural Association), through which she undertakes direct action in educational and cultural centres about social problems related to childhood and adolescence, basing her work on literature as a transformative social tool. A defender of the use of stories in education, therapy and the family, she is the driving force behind the Escuela de Cuentoterapia in Almería.
