SYNOPSIS

Nagore Vargas, or Jenisjoplin, as her father calls her, was born in a Basque industrial town and life's challenges have left her hardened by the age of twenty-eight. She is used to fighting passionately against authority, driven by defiance and inner motivation. She is quick to love, a magnet for danger and up for anything. She arrives in Bilbao to find a city in conflict, with revolutions to get involved in and an environment in which everyone stokes her anger in the name of class, homeland and sex. Until she discovers she is HIV positive and has Aids. She has lived life believing herself immune and now she must not only come to terms with herself, but also with the world, decide where the fight begins and ends and understand pleasure from her state of vulnerability.
