England, 1863. Aiden is a widower, and the pain caused by the loss of his wife has made him decide never to remarry, and thus he lets the years go by. However, faced with the imminent death of his father, he must find a wife or otherwise lose his inheritance. Eleanor, who has just moved there from York, is a young woman from a wealthy family; she has not the slightest interest in marriage. She does not need to get married, money and jewelry do not interest her, and she has never lacked for anything. She does, however, like plants and nature, and her dream is to have a garden of her own. Can such different people fall in love with each other? Will Aiden be able to leave behind the anguish that oppresses him? Will Eleanor be able to find out what happened all those years ago?
