She is a journalist and writer. Her professional career has focussed on radio, where she has directed and presented various programmes for different stations for fifteen years. She has also contributed to, and sometimes written, a variety of television programmes. She is presently a columnist on La Razón. Her first book, Un burka por amor (A Burqa for Love; Temas de Hoy, 2007) became a bestseller, running to 52 editions; it was made into a television miniseries, followed by over four million viewers, making it the most viewed work of fiction on Antena 3TV. This and her earlier publications, Amor cruel (Cruel Love), La rosa escondida (The Hidden Rose), La infiel (An Unfaithful Woman) and Besos de arena (Kisses of Sand), have been translated into various languages and have made Reyes Monforte one of the most important present-day authors.
