PAULA MERLAN

Paula Merlán (Vigo, 1979) is an elementary school teacher and a writer. She currently combines writing with teaching. She has published more than twenty children books, many of which have been translated to various languages, such as Galician, Basque, Catalan, English, Italian, French, Korean, and Malagasy. Her works have received recognition more than once at the International Latino Book Awards (EEUU). In 2018 she won First Prize for her book "A Surprise for Turtle" in the category of MOST INSPIRING CHILDREN'S BOOK. Her books have also been selected by Bank Street College of Education in New York City, and the prestigious magazine School Library Journal.
